I'm itching!

Saw these adorable little boxes at Primrose & Pearl last week & I loved the saying on them.  I 'm happy that I get to sleep in a pretty house each & every night.

So it got me thinking about my house .... I've got the 6 year itch
{I know it's suppose to be 7 yr. inch but I'm coming down with it a year early}

We have been in our home for 6 years this summer.  Can't believe it's been that long already & it's time for an update or a change but.... what to do first & how to do it?  Hmmmmm......
- A current picture of our mantle & fireplace wall-
I love the high cielings & beams in our home but along with that comes a bit of a problem.  To re-paint or update that I think we would have to move out for a few days so I want to do something a little on the smaller scale but that would still make an impact.  I really like this look- it's similar to our great room in that I have wall space on either side of my fireplace & I want to do something to make our cement fireplace stand out a bit more from the wall color.
What do you think?

-or should I paint the whole entire wall?  So many possibilities

I could also add curtains......

Just really wanting a CHaNGE along with the change of season.
{I'll keep you posted on what I decide to do}

I would paint the wall above the mantle AQUA or gray if you want to stay safer! Stripes are fun!! I also read this: http://megduerksen.typepad.com/craft/2012/04/fabulous-four.html

I think a stencil on the breast of the fire place would be cute!! Stripes on the main wall..subtle! Awe the possibilities!!
