It's fitting that these are on my list of favorite things because this is what started my business, Hollyhocks & Honeybees over 14 years ago.
I LoVE frames! I just simply do. I think it's because they hold loved ones & precious memories. I like to create frames that are different & unique that can be a decorative piece all on their own. They make a statement & I enjoy creating each & every one. I can't count the amount I've made over the years. They have really revolved & I'm so proud of that. I have memories of my husband & I sitting down on the cement floor in our basement, as a young married couple, cutting out frames & cleaning up sawdust. Whew... that was a long time ago & a lot of hard work.
This nook is quickly becoming a favorite decorated spot in the house. I had to tear myself away from cramming in any more stuff onto the shelves. I think the reason I love it so it it has lots of frames with pictures & wonderful memories as well as many things I've made from years past.
-Can you spot one of my favorite things that I mentioned yesterday?- |
I have quite a collection of frames, not all mine, but decorating with family photos is one of my favorite things to do. I change them up seasonally too. Lots of pics of pom pom hats, mittens, snowmen & christmas trees appear this time of year. It really brings your home to life & makes it all very personal. They are the best conversation pieces too. They seem to draw your guests in to look at the photos, ask questions or comment on them. So glad that I have taken many family pictures over the years & show off candid pictures too. So fun!
These are just a few that I have up around the house right now, believe there's more.
- That's my Mom with Santa Claus back in the day, the best pic! The little green one is my daughter & I doing one of our favorite things, baking gingerbread cookies- |
The countdown frame is probably one of my favorite things I've ever made. My girls look forward to it every Christmas season too. It sits on our stair ledge, perfect for the girls to pass by each day & at eye level for them to erase & write the number every morning when they get up to go to school.
{Before chalkboard paint was even cool! I had to really hunt for that stuff back in the day.}
Now since I adore frames & love my readers & followers too. I'm going to GiVEAWAY this H&H 5x7 Holiday Frame to one lucky person to show off a holiday photo of their family this holiday season. All you have to do to enter is answer the question of the day on each of the favorite things post.
{The more you answer the more entries you'll get.}
You can also leave a comment each day over on the H&H FaceBook page too when a favorite things photo is posted. Winner will be announced on the evening of the 12th. GooD LuCK!
Question of the day: Who would you put a picture of inside this frame if you won?

Picture of my boys with the "real Santa" who knows them well.
Awesome, thanks Britany!
I would turn the frame into a holiday decoration and put a craft paper inside of other trees. I decorate my house in trees and snowmen for Christmas so this would make a wonderful addition! I found a darling vintage, homey type
paper that I mod-podged on a 12x12 piece of wood and it sits on my shelf above my fireplace as part of my grouping of snowmen and trees.
I would put a picture of my 6 sweet kiddos!
I really like all your different frames! I've been wanting to put more pictures in my home, but I am having a difficult time choosing which frames. I was thinking about getting matching frames, but I think that it would be better to mix things up like you have! All your frames are so unique and it makes it look much more fun. Hopefully I can find some good frames that will go well with the rest of my house! http://www.prestigepictureframing.com/
I would put a pic in of my six amazing kids :)
I would put a pic of my sweet family striking a 'funny' picture. My kids are so into funny family pictures lately :)
I love frames too! I'd most likely put a family picture in it or one of my kids.
I would put a picture of me and my hubby with our six sweet treasures (grandkids).....
