Monday

I have seen the light!

10.17.11-

 Even if it is just the soft glow of the Harmon's sign glowing in the Autumn evening air. Yes, I finally discovered Harmon's for the 1st time & I must say- I loved it!
{My friend Terra has been telling me to go there for years}

I decided to check out their newest store in Farmington this weekend during an impromptu moment.  My plans changed one night & I found myself left home alone while everyone else {in the family} was off somewhere.  I am currently in the middle of preparations with my friend Nicole for our turn at hosting Gourmet Club the end of this month so I knew I needed to get some grocery items
{& sometimes they are a little unusual when you are
preparing a gourmet feast}
I thought Harmon's would be the answer for me & hopefully a one-stop shop. I am happy to say that is was.  I was able to get every single thing on my really long list of supplies to get!

I wondered around for an hour going up & down each aisle & dreaming of having a date night there with Ty soon just doing some groc. shopping & eating at the deli
{which according to the cashiers happens alot there}
& then maybe going to see a movie right across the parking lot, or taking a cooking class that they have or maybe just going next door & shopping  at Home Goods.
{which I did by the way & found the greatest pillows-
LOVE that store!}

Anyway just wanted to share if you haven't been yet you need to check in out. Right off of 1-15 on the West side of Farmington.  I'm looking forward to spending a day next month there for lunch & shopping with the Cultivate girls for a monthly get together- should be fun!

? Honeybee wants to know- If you shop @ Harmon's what is your favorite thing about it or what should I for sure try next time I'm there?

My favorite thing just might be what I saw in the produce section-  this may just be my new favorite quote.

I mean come on- who could not love a store that has this philosophy!  It's got me hooked for sure & hungry for some carrot cake too ;)

By the way I'm so happy that I finally upgraded my cell phone so that I can pull it out & take pictures all the time wherever I am.  I used to be "old school" with the phone I had
{even the old texting of having to hit each key 1-3 times to get the letter I wanted}
& it took me awhile to get used & appreciate my new phone but I am happy with it.

More inspiration

10.12.11-
  Still contemplating on what to do with all my
New found Old black & white photos
{thanks for your comments by the way}
I came across this image today that really inspired me- I have some old cream colored shutters {that are up on my mantle right now} that I might just stick & tuck the pictures into to  display them.   I like the idea of them all bunched together into one big display.

Then I came across this fabulous photo & just adored the whole color scheme!
{kind of a modern twist on the whole Halloween color scheme}
I love that I have some grey/blueish pumpkins in my house right now. We grew them right outside in the back yard- adore them!  I love the uniqueness of the pumpkin color.
So...........
Honeybee wants to know? Do you have any unusual pumpkins displayed on your porch or in your home this year?
...............................
 If not you really should- there are so many fun unique varieties out there. Ones with warts & bumps, some with big fat stems, white pumpkins, green ones, Cinderella shaped ones. I could go on & on! They might be a bit more to buy but totally worth it.

{Don't you just love Mr. Owl in this photo- so pretty & those eyes- wow!}

Happy when I feel inspired by color & see something pretty.  I'm grateful for the eyes that I have to see all the beautiful colors around me each & every day- I'm so inspired by it.

Colors of the day- Black & White

10.11.11-
  Have you ever been given something & then put it somewhere
{thinking you would remember where it was for when you wanted it?} & couldn't find it anywhere! Augh, so frustrating!!

  Well that happened to me these last couple of weeks.  I was given a box full of old family black & white photos , this Summer, from my Grandma.  She didn't know who any of them are but has had them & didn't have the heart to throw them out so gave them to me to put to good use.
{I'm so glad that I love & appreciate old things}

Back to the story- I wanted to make something with these for my H&H Fall Show & looked & looked high & low for the box of the photos but could NOT find them anywhere.  Well last week {right after my show} I opened our black cupboard to put away some books that I took off the mantle {so I could redecorate it for the month} & spotted the box sitting on the shelf!
{I swear I looked there at least 2 times before}

So now the question is what to do with these photos?
I'm thinking a garland of some sort or framing some & mixing them in with the Halloween decor I already have out.  I think they look a bit Halloween-ish because of the black & white & no smiles in the photos- so we'll see.
Do you have any ideas for me??

Ok, that's it for today- to the craft room to start creating!  I'll show you what I finally decide to do with them all- stay tuned.
Saw this on Pinterest today {of coarse I re-pinned it} &
it's my motto for today.

Be happy everyone!

Thursday Thoughts.....

10.6.11-
2 Reasons I love Costco-

1- Chocolate Covered Pomegranates
&
2- "Pumpkins on a Stick"

2 of my favorite things & I got them both tonight during a quick Costco run.  I love having these Pumpkin stems every Fall but I haven't been able to find them this year {& have been frustrated} but tonight I walked down the aisle by the florals & Ta-Dah- there they were.
I think they got named "Pumpkins on a stick" by one of my girls, a few years ago, & the name has stuck ever since.  I even had people asking me about them during my show last week because I didn't have any out.
{they know me to well & know that I love them}

Well I'm happy to report that they are at Costco so go get them!  Even the lady in front of me in line saw them & ran back to get her a bunch to take home.
{p.s. they last a long time too!}

Just wanted to share. Have a great night!

Numbers....

10.5.11-

A fun picture to start off the post. I'm glad we went up to Snowbasin as a family Sunday to look at all the changing leaves since the wind is howling & the rain is falling today.
-Miss Mace- love this girl & her fun personality that
always shines through!-
    Do you ever get caught up in Numbers?  Some days it seems like Numbers just seem to be everywhere & today is one of those days with me.

1- I stopped by my FAVORITE JJ's for lunch {while I was out running errands today} & thought I would try a #12 {Beach Club} for lunch instead of my usual #4.  The #12 is the same as #4 but with sliced cucumbers & avacado spread on it
hmmm... I think I'll just stick with my beloved #4 next time.
2- KSL Channel 5 was in my front yard today interviewing my Husband Ty & Neighbor Matt about their Giant Pumpkins. Be sure to watch the 10 o'clock news tonight on Channel 5.
3- Can't believe that my girls & I are going to be going to the BYU game this Saturday that doesn't kick off until 8:10.
{that's going to be a late night but they are looking forward to a sleep over at their Aunts house after the game. Go Cougs! }
4-I'm hoping #13 starts the game on Saturday- we'll see! We also like to see #12 out there playing, he is a family friend of ours- GO JD!
5- Today I am teaching a craft to 15 girls in my ward
{should be fun!} I got the idea from the eighteen25 blog.
6- Happy that the Yankees forced a game 5 last night.
{Can you tell I love sports!}

7- Loved what we discussed in our scripture class today in Genesis 24.  I want to be more like Rebekah- what an amazing woman & example.
8- 3 {+counting 1 for me so 4} Stripe-y frames I have left to make that were ordered from the H&H Fall Show last week. They are so cute!
I'm making mine an orange one for Halloween.
9- 227 the # of Followers on Pinterest- it's so fun to learn who is out there following me- family & friends from long ago- especially when they send me a message, so nice.
 Thanks everyone! Are you on there? If so let me know!
{Not to mention the 3 new followers on this blog- hooray!}
10- The 365 Swap.
{yes, I have not forgotten} I still need to show you all some pictures from that fabulous event- maybe I'll be back tomorrow to do that.

Ok, is there a # that means something to you today?
I would love to hear from you if there is.

Tuesday

Hello October...

10.4.11-
  Yeah- my most FaVORITE month of the year has arrived- Hooray!
I always love to decorate my home for Halloween & something I am loving right now is the decor I set up between my kitchen & living area. It's has a very Fall-ish feel to it, was super easy to do & is BiG to take up the space in the large room.

Who knew that some branches stuck in an old metal wheat can could make such a great statement in a room. It's all displayed up on a vintage ironing board.  Pair that with the fun key lamp shade lamp, a little black school chair, a fabulous warty McQuig's pumpkin, some spooky looking candles in some inventive holders {I'll explain below} & there you go-
A instant Halloween inspired centerpiece for the room.

Do you remember met telling you about these bed springs that I got at The 365 Swap a few weeks ago?
Well all I did was cut off the little coils around the bigger springs {I thought they looked to cute-sy} & stuck some drippy candles in to turn them into candle holders.  The Spider Web {that is wrapped around the big candle} I got at Swiss Days a couple of years ago & it is STiLL one of my absolute Favorite things to get out for Halloween. It's just a wire Spider Web net that you just wrap around a candle- LoVE!

Ok, just wanted to share.  Still lots of Halloween stuff to put up around here. Have you got your home all decked out for Halloween yet?  I'm off to **GLiTTeR** a pie pumpkin to set up on the mantle- another one of my favorite things to do for Halloween. Have you ever done that before?
