** Happy July everyone! **
Such a fun-filled month that starts right off with a BaNG & the festive 4th of July.
{one of my favorite days of the entire year!!}
Love the energy & excitement this day brings not to mention all coming together as a country to celebrate the freedoms we enjoy & the blessings of living in this great nation. This has always been a big day for my family. Growing up in a small town it was such a big day from sun-up to sun-down. Celebrations going on the entire day. Still is that way & I still love it. Looking forward to heading up there on Thursday to be with all my family.
Since I enjoy this holiday so much I have to go all out to decorate for it. I leave it all up for the entire month.
{you know me, no setting up before the 1st of the month & no taking down until the end}
Wanted to focus on the family room this time around. I think it was the mustard mantle that drew me to it because the bright red, whites & blues just pop against it so well! It makes such a great backdrop & canvas to play around with.
Ok, this is my newest, most favorite thing!! Aren't these letters a.dor.able! Bought them as a kit, painted them up & added my signature H&H touch to finish them off. Seriously, so delightful I want to squeal!
{believe me I have too!}
They certainly set the tone for the decor this year!
Oh, & one of my most favorite things in our home- outlets in the mantle. Genius! They go on & off with a switch, makes decorating so simple & easy with that right there.
Can't celebrate a holiday without a garland {or 1 or 2} Found the tinseled stars years ago at shop, made the stripey straw garland this year {go here for the tutorial} & received this adorable polka dot stitched garland from my sweet friend in Tennessee who sent it to my for my birthday.
{I've been so anticipating getting it out & putting it up for weeks now. Thanks again, C!}
Some of my favorite H&H frames holding sweet photos & memories of 4th of July pasts.
{Love the pic of my Mom & Miss Mace holding a bouquet of sparkly pinwheels & my 2 little girls first 4th of July}
Some Old Glory's standing tall & up right in all their glory thanks to some old wagon wheels. I've had these for years! Got them from my hubby's Aunt in Colorado & have used them to stick various things in. Makes for a great display & conversation piece.
Our vintage school house display case got dressed up for the occasion too. Draped a table runner across the top for some flair & posted an H&H sign up on top. Filled them cupboard up with lots of great stuff.
Some favorite photos from past years, scrapbook supplies turned into memorabilia & old school art projects too get tucked into the display.
Of coarse the display is under lock & key- precious treasures stored inside!
Pairings of pillows are always fun too. Made the Flag pillow years ago with my friend & it's been a favorite to get out every year. Just found an old flag at a shop, sewed a back onto it, put grommets in the side & tied it closed with some vintage striped ribbon. Easy & so cute!
Found this pillow a couple of months ago at a store on Main Street in Kaysville. Love old crazy quilts & when I saw this I just knew it had to come home with me.
Some red, white & blue chairs all in a straight line way up high.
A few other 4th of July favorites. Love this H&H frame {from last year} set with some great little blocks & of coarse more flags!
{You can never have too many out this time of year!}
{You can never have too many out this time of year!}
-Used an old grater to stack all the flags in. Love to look for different things to decorate with- |
-One of my favorite frames. Something about this color combo just makes me swoon- |
This block had me singing, Take me out to the Ballgame & Hey Batter, Batter hey Batter, Batter....SWiNG, I got to just do my thing. {you're welcome for getting that song stuck in your head now} |
Some front door decor. This is probably one of the VeRY first things I ever picked up a paint brush to make. It was door decor for our apartment door when we were newlyweds. Such fun memories tied to this button flag.
A unique way to celebrate the Land that I love!!
A fun idea {& a bit unexpected} decor for the 4th. We have been collecting postcards as a family for years. We get them sent to us from our family when they travel, when the hubby's out of town he ALWAYS sends the girls & I postcard & even when we vacation as a family we each pick out a postcard, write a memory down & address it to ourselves. Such a great way to journal, record & remember places you have visited.
-National BB Hall of Fame, our Nation's capital & by beloved Duke University in No. Carolina- |
Had to get a pic of this patriotic bathing beauty in her red, white & blue swim suit.
{We go all out to celebrate around here- even with what we wear!!}
Hope you all have a fun, festive & safe 4th of July.
-God Bless America!-
