Thursday

I {LoVE} Mail!!

5.17.12-

  What a fun day to walk out my front door & go to the mailbox.  I opened the door to see a big package lying on the porch- couldn't believe my eyes that it was my order from ThreePotatoFour.
{Already?! I just ordered it on Monday- I WiSH all companies would send orders out that fast, that would be nice!}
I ripped open my package & are enjoying all my new vintage things- giddy!

Then once I got over the excitement of that, opened my mailbox to find this waiting for me inside-
Hip Hip HooRaY!
My birthday month is almost here- that means I'll be off to Anthropologie to spend my coupon, so fun!!
{with my other June B-day friend, E!}
Anthropologie always sends the cutest little thing along with the coupon too- love the little clock, my time indeed!
{plus, I want to have a GiVEAWAY of some kind for my birthday month, still trying to figure it out. I'll let you know ;)}

Hope you got something fun in the mail too.
If you did... let me know, I'd love to share in your joy.

Wednesday

Good to know +places to go

5.16.12-

  Back with some fun things I've stumbled across & want to share with you.  The first one, thanks to a phone call this morning from my friend, {B} telling me about a deal on some cute Washi Tape.
{Aren't friends the best who keep you in the loop on things- so thoughtful!}
-Yippee- more colorful organization to do! Did you see what I made with it yesterday?  Love it! -
Check out Pick your Plum for the deal of they day- WaSHi!!

Next just one of my FaVoRiTE online stores is having a sale- I've told you about this place before but here it is again.  I just adore the business name so retro- three potato four
{I placed an order & can't wait to get it in the mail}
-if you want to know what I ordered check out the H&H FaceBook page to view one of the items
{actually I ordered 2 of them because 2 is better than 1}-

I can't believe me- I usually never buy stuff online & I've placed 2 orders within the past 2 days, kind of fun!  Can't wait to go get the mail & see the UPS truck in front of my house next week.

Last but not least... who knew?  That the great new style of Restoration Hardware & that I'm totally LOVING lately has a name? Plus I think the name is totally cool too.  I fit all the requirements of this style.  Thought this segment was great & informative.  Check it out & see if you're a Juxtaposition person, like me, too.

That's it for today- see ya!

Tuesday

A fresh up-date!

5.15.12-

  I was inspired {thanks to Pinterest} to do a little simple, easy to do in a day, project.  A big thanks to my friend, {T} too for telling me where to go to get some WaSHi Tape
{that I have wanted to get for awhile now- it's all the rage. It's a paper tape so you can just rip or tear it- no scissors needed! Do you have some in your junk/scrapbook drawer?}
Next time you're at Target check out the stationary aisle & you'll find some tape sold in a pack of 4 rolls.  I got the torqoiuse/green colored theme but there was also a blue pack for only $4.00.  I was excited to bring them home to give a little "update" to my calendar.

-Before-
-So BlaH, Boring & sad!-
-After-

-Exciting, fresh & HaPPY!-
Doesn't it look better?  I love it!  I'm also realizing as a WaSHi taped all our Summer agenda in that I know of so far it's going to be a busy one! I gave a specific color of tape to each person in our family so that it's all color coded.  Gotta love a splash of color to brighten up things!

Thought it was such a great idea.  You can see the original source of inspiration by going to my Pinterest board & looking under Creative Inspiration. For some reason it wasn't letting me embed the photo so I could show you.

Have a happy day!

Monday

For the LoVE.....

5.14.12-

  Have I told you that I enjoy making cookies
{okay, maybe a bit too much at times} I probably bake at least one batch of cookies a week- all different kinds of coarse whatever the girls & I are thinking sound good that day.
I think I get it my love for cookie baking from my Grandma Hall because she always had the tastiest cookies at her house whenever I would stop in for a visit.
{her cookie jar was always full}

These Gingersnaps are one of her recipes & quite frankly one of my all-time favorite cookies.  Whenever I bake them it just takes me right back to my childhood, playing with my cousins & being in her home.

Grandma Hall's GiNgerSnaPs
1 1/4 C. Shortening
1 1/2 C. Sugar
2 Eggs
3/8 C. Molasses {A little over 1/4 of a Cup}
  Mix until well combined & then add:
3 C. Flour
2 tsp. Ground Ginger
2 1/4 tsp. Baking Soda
1 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
3/4 tsp. Salt
  Form into little balls & roll into sugar. Place on an ungreased baking sheet & bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
-Enjoy-
Your kitchen will smell wonderful too I promise!

If you know me well you know My Philosophy: "Everything looks better on a cake stand." & yes, that even applies to serving up cookies.

-I'm still in LoVE with my McCoy cookie jar that I bought last year- I've named my little friend, Hector!-

I think one thing I love & have fun with baking up a big batch of cookies is getting to share them with family & friends.  I like walking outside our back door & giving them to neighbors or whatever kids might be playing in our yard at the time.
{Which can be up to as many as 15 at any given time of day}

-All packaged up & ready to take to a neighbor as a
Thank-You treat!-
Taking these to a community get together in our park later.  I thought they looked scrumptious all snuggled together in this vintage bread loaf pan I found at a consignment shop.  I love using unique & sometimes unusual things to serve up treats in.  It's all about the little details-
{Another one of my philosophies!}

I'm glad I enjoy baking!
{just wish I didn't enjoy eating all that I bake so much ;) }
Honeybee wants to know?- Do you like to bake too, if so wants your favorite thing to make?

Friday

Let the weekend begin!

5.12.11-

friends!
Isn't that sign the cutest- I just might have to make me one of those.  So cheerful & fun- love the yellow color.
{by the way, how cute is that website name? Love it, must be the teacher in me}

Thanks to my hubby I got to go enjoy my early Mother's Day gift today, a Cucumber Melon Pedicure {it smelled so nice} at one of my favorite local spa's- so sweet of him.
{Thanks Schmoopie!}

-Something NeW for me- I went with the COLOR of the YeaR- poppy orange.  Usually I go with Hot Pink but I decided to embrace the 2012 color!-
Hoping you all have a wonderful weekend &
Happy Mother's Day to all of you out there.  Especially to my Mom, Grandma Hall, Ty's Mom & all the wonderful examples to me of Aunts, Friends, Neighbors, Sis-in-laws of what it takes to be a fantastic Mom.
-Love you all!-
