Pile prep

6.8.11-
  I love being asked to help with a project!
{especially when it is a fantastic & creative kind of thing}
I get to help decorate a wedding for a friend of mine who is planning it all & is amazingly talented when it comes to putting something like this together.  He asked me to compile a pile {that was ryhmy & cute} of this & that would fit in with the theme of a vintage tea party @ the world
for his brother's wedding.
{What a great idea, so many fun possibilities with this- can't wait to see it all come together in SLC next weekend}

This is my pile so far
{I'm sure I'll add to it as the week goes along}
I enjoy rummaging through my house & cupboards to see what I have to contribute- I'm glad I like vintage/junky/ unique things to have in my home.  They sure do come in handy all the time. Can't wait to see what my other creative friends bring to the party to decorate with.

Better keep looking high & low!

 6.7.11-

Where does the time go?  It seems just like yesterday that I was in the hospital having my little Twin baby girls
{if you can call a 8 lb. 1 oz & 7 lb. 4 oz. baby girls little}

What a joy they have been in my life.  Although they came down to earth together they are so unique & special with their own different personalities & talents.

This is one of my FAVORITE pictures of Audrey & Emily
 {from 2003} up in Park City during our family vacation when they were only 1.  I think it sums up our life with Twins perfectly. One always going one way & the other in the opposite direction.
{at least with my girls anyway-Boy, did they keep us on our toes!}

I have always been happy that they are independent & believe in themselves enough to do what they would like to do & not rely or wait to see what the other one wants to do.  At the same time {just like in this picture} it's nice to know that the other isn't that far away if one ever needed help or a friend.

-Audrey on the left & Em on the right-

And here they are today-
THE BIRTHDAY girls!!

-Em on left & Audji on the right-
 Showing off some of their early morning birthday gifts before we were off to Breakfast {bright & early} to Mimi's cafe to celebrate.

Love you girls- thanks for being such good daughters- it's been fun to watch you grow up this much & I can't wait to see what adventures await you as you continue to grow.
{p.s. Aunt Becca wrote 9 things she loves about each of you on
her blog today- you better check it out!}

Happy Happy Day!

Monday

Day of surprises!

6.6.11-
  Today is Monday
{that means laundry day around here}
My little Emily made my day this morning when she came up to me & said that her favorite thing on Monday's was coming home from school & seeing the laundry all washed, folded & put into her laundry basket  & placed by the stairs for her to put away.
{Ahhhh.... one of those Sweet moments that makes all the things you HAVE to do worth it. Love being a homemaker & a Mom}

So that was a little *Surprise #1* to start off the day.
Then it was off to Bountiful to met the {Cultivate} girls for lunch at Sego Lilly Cafe
{to re-cap the 365 Swap No. 2 & start planning the Fall 365 Swap}
*surprise #2* it is out of business :(  So the venue quickly got changed to Paradise Bakery- Yum!
{Small Crumbled Blue Cheese Salad, Zucchini walnut muffin & a DC}

When I got there *Surprise #3* my friends had brought me gifts for my upcoming birthday this week- so NiCE!
-Here is a picture of what I got-

A glass honey hive shaped jar filled up with old letter presses!
{Thanks, H}
A handmade darling book flower
{thanks B}
& a "little black{turquoise} book" filled up with fun places to go to shop, go junking & yummy places to eat. Not to mention blank pages for me to fill in with some favorites that I discover along the way {Thanks S}

Oh yeah... this is all that's left of the bag of tasty white chocolate popcorn I also got
{the girls & I gobbled it all up!}

What a fun day of Surprises so far- currently Miss Mace & I are baking *Surprise #4*  Audrey & Emily's birthday cake. They turn 9 tomorrow. {where does the time go?} We saw a picture on Pinterest that inspired us.  Hope it turns out just as cute!
{I'll have to post a picture of it later}

Hope you are having a blissful day too!

Blossoms & Memories

6.4.11-

I'm loving walking around our yard lately- everything is bright, colorful & in bloom- Hooray!  Up here in the high country it seems that we are usually about 3 weeks behind where we used to live. So it gets a bit frustrating driving around & seeing yards all green & colorful weeks before ours.
But I'm especially pleased {grateful} to see these colorful fragrance bushes in full bloom this year.
{I've waited 3 years for these bushes to burst!}

I {heart} Lilacs- not just because they are so sweet smelling & gorgeous but because of the memories they bring to my mind.  My Grandma had big beautiful bushes on the side of her home when I was growing up & I would love to pick them.  I also had some on the side of my home growing up too- each Spring I would cut a few branches, wrap some wet paper towels around the base & carry them on the bus to give to my Elementary teachers.  I looked forward to doing this each year.

Now I finally have some in our yard- yeah!
{Hello..... we live on Lilac Lane so Lilac bushes were the first thing I wanted to plant in our yard}

I also love having big bushes on Iris' in our yard, these also remind me of a big patch of Iris' that lined the whole back of my Grandma's home. I just wish Iris smelled better- they are pretty stinky.

{Can you tell I spent a lot of time at my Grandparents home?  I was lucky enough to only live 3 miles away from them.}

Aren't these little yellow flowers the cutest?

I'm happy to see these popping up along our rock wall because they came from our 1st home. I gave a start to my neighbor Michelle to plant in her yard years ago & they spread EVERYWHERE!
{Glad I got them when I did because she got rid of them}

I tried to plant a start a couple of years ago & they didn't make it but this year they did- YeaH!
I love cutting these flowers to bring in the house & put in a vase- they are so dainty & sweet!

I love having a wide variety of perennials in our yard because they are the gift that keeps on giving each & every year.
{I can't wait for all of the Hollyhocks & Peonies to bloom}
I enjoy spending time in our yard & cutting beautiful sweet smelling flowers to bring in our house. That's one thing you can always count on in our home during the Summertime- fresh flowers filling some sort of container on the island or table.
{ohhh... I love it!!}

Guest Post- What I wore {last } Wednesday- Part 2

6-2-11 {5.25.11}

  Hello:) I am Miss Mace {the queen bees daughter :)} and I'm going to talk about the day I had with my Dad last week! I decided not to go to LaGoOn, for the day,  with my school but instead hang out with my Dad all day. We had a really fun day. I went to his office & helped him at work.  I got to put sticky things on folders {p.s they where really sticky } this is a picture of me sitting in his secretaries really comfy chair at his office!!!

My Dad wanted to take a picture with me!!
p.s.s cuz I am so cute ;D

Then he decided to be a little weird  but... I decided to be weird back :)

I had to do a thousand of these!! I am not even exaggerating..... I had my Dad do the math!!

SoRrY this picture is fuzzy!! My Pappa took this pic. on his cell phone! (so glad we have technology :) Because I was such a good worker, he took me to lunch at his favorite restaurant,  Pad Thai in Layton- yummy! My Dad goes there so often that the waitress just brings him out his food, he doesn't even need to order.  Cool, Huh?  I guess he eats there alot!

Then we went to the driving range after we did a little more work!!
{what a great day to wear sandals.. huh?)

I was SUPER windy! Me taken a swing- my farthest hit went 150 yards!!! {wa-hoo!!}

My Daddy taking a swing (he looks more professional huh?)
then we went home!!

When I got home and my mom said "Mace, Ryann has the same shirt on as you and wants to get a picture with you.''
So I ran over and got a picture with this cute girly who is my back door neighbor.

 So I guess I am done, I had a great day spending time with my Dad! I would honestly rather spend time with him then go to LaGoOn!!!
Thanks- this was fun!!!

I am so excited to {finally} share this post with you. Last Wednesday I sat down to load my pics onto the computer from my camera & accidentally put the photo card into the CD drive. OOoPpS!!

{$50 bucks later & a trip to the Mac store I learned my lesson to be more careful}

Anyway this is a {double} W.I.W.W because Miss Mace is going to participate too. We both had fun places & things to do last Wednesday that we wanted to share.

This is what I wore-
I got dressed up to go to Lunch with some neighborhood friends to celebrate our FavOrite things!
{I was soooo happy it was a Sunshiny day & be able to wear my new cute black pumps & capris}
Love this shirt I got from Buckle! I like the way it looks with the roushing & the neckline- so fun & different. Not to mention the sleeves & bottom of the shirt & how it is trimmed- love it!  This was outfit choice #2 to wear to Studio 5,  I liked the shirt so much I just had to keep it.

I met up with a bunch of friends for lunch at Rainbow Gardens in Ogden & bring with me a bag of a few of my favorite things to give to someone. The only rule was you had to spend between $20-25 dollars but it was completely up to you what to bring.
{loved the idea- thanks Tammy for putting it all together}
 this is what my bag consisted of:
-Miss Mace made the cute blossom on the bag- thanks Mace!-

all packed up in a darling yellow basket that she got at the 365 Swap {how fun is that!}

1- Raisinets
{which I ate half the box of on the way home}
2- Werther's Chewy Carmels
{Which I shared with Em- she loved them!}
3-  Dorothy Lynch Dressing
4- Extra peppermint gum
5- Fels Naptha detergent
{apparently I was the only at the table who doesn't use this already & my friend actually makes her own laundry detergent out of this. You can read more about it on her blog- {Here}
6- Cool Ranch Doritos
{A&E's after school snack-yum!}
7- Thai Kitchen can of Coconut milk w/ recipe

{Leave me a comment & tell me one thing you just HAVE to  & use. I would love to hear!}

Happy 1st day of June friends!
